4th Annual March of the Monarchs

Don’t miss the NLBM‘s 4th Annual “March of the Monarchs celebrating the winning spirit of the great Kansas City Monarchs!

Don’t miss the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum‘s (NLBM) 4th Annual “March of the Monarchs,” presented by Evergy starting at12:00 PM, Saturday, May 3rd at the corner of 22nd & Brooklyn (site of Municipal Stadium). It’s a FREE family walk celebrating the winning spirit of the great Kansas City Monarchs and held on the anniversary of Jackie Robinson’s first game with the team (May 6, 1945).

The event re-creates the tradition of Monarchs Opening Day when a marching band would lead fans from 18th & Vine to the ballpark at 22nd & Brooklyn. For our celebration, we reverse the route with the walk ending at the NLBM where the celebration will continue with live entertainment, food trucks, mascots, yard games and more.
