We invite you to join us as we launch an exciting new series “Up to Bat”. Beginning in January and each month throughout the year a different Negro Leagues team will be featured on our website and in the museum. The series will offer insights into team stats, fun facts and life in the Negro Leagues. - The Black Yankees formed after the original team that occupied New York, the Lincoln Giants, came to an end in 1930.
- Although the Black Yankees were not a dominating team, they had a loyal following in the city.
- Owned by the Legendary Tap Dancer Mr. Bill “Bojangles” Robinson
- Players that played for the Yankees at some point during their career include Satchel Paige, George “Mule” Suttles, and Willie Wells.
